Poetic-Verses
The Damascus Road
At a log fire burning
I stand unseen
My arms aloft
To the holy night I scream
I am at a place
Were I will lay bare
My torment, my pain
To this I swear
The chalice I hold
No longer holds wine
If I lay down before you
Have I still got time?
Who holds the key
To the door slammed shut?
I guess I haven't
Given enough.
Some talk of divinity
And angels who aid
With river of love
And sweet serenade
The gospels I know!
But I would not see
It all encumbrance
Its hunting me
