Haiti for a Day
What if everyone living here U.S.A
Every single person from New York to L.A
From Hawaii to Alaska, from all round and in between
Take a step out of your box into a whole different scene
Let’s live in Haiti for a day, and you don’t get to pick
It has to be the day that the big earthquake hit
Imagine this for a minute as you sit in your car
Complaining about how you have to work so far
Stop for a second as you sit in your home
Thinking about how much you want that new cell phone
Hold that thought while pushing away from the dinner table
Upset because the legs are getting a little unstable
Today you live in Haiti, and all that’s on your mind
Is not you got out alive, but who is left behind?
Now finding the perfect outfit is not a bother
But finding your brother, sister, mother, or father
No longer upset about spending Friday night alone
Today you just lost everything, including your home
No fear of going without your morning Latte
The fear is going without any meals today
In Haiti today death and destruction is all too real
Not just something you enjoy from a movie reel
Can you imagine the uncertainty, the grief, and oh the sorrow
Well that’s just today, what about tomorrow
Now back at home where ever that maybe
Take more than a little time to pray for Haiti
When you think about it, you are not that far
Disasters can find you, where ever you are
So should you feel led when you pray
Whatever your gift, you should help in that way
We are all brothers and sisters you see
No matter your present physical location
We are all living in Haiti
