Does God get tired of hearing us complain
About the weather over and over again?
It is all a part of His beautiful creation
Shouldn't we accept it with consolation?
Whether you live in Omaha or Baltimore
The last you want is for it to snow more
Drifts over two feet and mountains galore
You want to move to Hawaii forevermore
When you are done plowing your driveway
The snow truck leaves a big pile in the way
It is a losing battle, not making any headway
Then you have to face the potholes everyday
Driving on some side streets, you can get stuck
Salt and slush leaves on your car a layer of muck
You cannot wait until you wash off all the gunk
Right now doors frozen shut would be your luck
Some will still disagree, not seeing eye to eye
Weary from clearing more snow is the reason why
If we all focused on His blessings to you and I
Then we would see His care for us can't be denied
I saw some email pictures from Canada today
With drifts up to the roof, not soon to go away
While it is bad enough here, I am able to say
I rejoice knowing God is in control each day
People live on the streets, even in the cold
Homelessness has no limits to young or old
I am thankful for all His blessings I behold
Shelter, protection, and much more to be told
Psalm 118:24 (NIV)
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice
and be glad in it.
