Earthquake

Photobucket
the ground begins to shake with such intensity
people freeze in fear trying to stay upright
then the panic begins screams filled the air
as the earthquake hit buildings fall lives shattered

the familiar the safety suddenly disappeared
people were buried screams heard everywhere
shock could be seen in their eyes all homeless
as the earthquake hit buildings fall lives shattered

the quake only lasted minutes rebuilding a lifetime
the lives the memories all swept away in a blink
as the waves of devastation struck alienation overtook
as the earthquake hit buildings fall lives shattered

nature takes no heed of human status all suffer the same
homes and businesses lost to the rich and the poor
they become one in the eyes of mother nature
as the earthquake hits buildings fall lives shattered
