HONEY COLORED YARN

HONEY COLORED YARN

Knitting streams of summer, honey colored yarn
Sweet home smells of country, hay in the barn
Nature's silent fingers stretching out beyond
Solace from its echoes, sprinkled here and yon

Grandma's golden biscuits, quilts on the loom
Floor-length windows grace the drawing room
Sentimental images pouring out as wine
Gentle cups of summer, nectar from the vine

The face of a sunflower, a drink of summer rain
A beady-eyed rooster pecking sugar cane
Bottle up the language of summer's gentle tease
Sip it through the winter anytime you please
