Articulation in a nation where comprehension is at an all time low;
Understanding has been left beneath the surface,
perhaps we should get some shovels to dig up some overstanding;
however most are s.o.s (stuck.on.stupid)
Too consumed with their own circle, stuck inside the rate race,
constantly fighting to save face, not knowing they are abusing Her Grace;
Articulation in a nation where matriculation may or may not help your situation;
gradually gathering knowledge to one day acquire power, money, and respect;
once the goal is met, we soon forget the hard work it took to take that next step;
Articulation in a nation where derelicts rest in train stations
and rest areas, but wealthy folks send their charities overseas,
when our kids are at home dying from disease,
not h.i.v or a natural disease,
but that generational plague known in ghettos and slums as poverty;
Articulation in a nation where criminals have more rights than the righteously civil;
Articulation in a nation where people come from abroad to find the American dream,
when the folk born and raised here couldn't be approved for a loan
so their cheese can marinate into c.r.e.a.m
Articulation in a nation where we need to turn down the volume in our minds
so we can hear what's being said!
