 Much About Him

To understand we'd have to start
What He saw of me imparts
To you who may just stop on by
Of us once seen who lived but lies

Yet in this ragged man He saw
The soul He loves that broke His laws
The one that ran with sin a race
That won each time my prize disgrace

Broken He'd see what still was left
Of tattered soul all out of bets
Who played and lost more than our way
Who fell from grace, past yesterdays

My fall, His rise would compromise
Forgive our past He exorcised
From dead man walking holding my hand
Blessing us cursed, now Godly man

It's not about me who thought they earned
Wings, my right, to bridges burned
But all about Him who gives us desire
To serve now reborn, baptized of Gods fire
