Reflection

As time passes by one can sit and reflect
Or peer at the many images the  mind project
This can take you through many a page
Reproducing extract from parts on life's stage

Instantly you  may picture that large flamboyant tree
Under and among whose branches as  a lad you played happily
Now that tree is no more, replaced by  a shopping mall
Where the youngsters used to go have their brawls

Then  you will remember that large playground
Where you will got to frolic until the sun went down
As you  may see in that field and the next
Is now covered by an upscale  housing complex

Trembling and your movement is  so slowly
Heart pounding and thoughts racing so anxiously
Then  a bright smile comes over the face
 You joyfully recognize you birthplace

The house stands there so defiant and majestically
Daring as though  resisting the changes so stubbornly
Then the heart becomes sad and you feel so alone
In the village where you now stand, most of your friends have gone home

Then the spirits got lifted as one  ages so happily
Remembering those  moments by the sea
Moments of bliss as those feet did  thread
Over the casuarinas'  soft, velvety brown spread

A moment to be fixed as the  being was transposed
To the day  and that moment when you propose
On seeing that glow, that beam of happinwss radiating from her eyes
Filled the body and soul with exponential joys

Oh! What images the mind could conjure
Giving one that  moment of  wonderful pleasure
Gladly recharging and  a quantum leap to the youthful stage
Abstractly defying the  burden of ones age

Subtly  enjoying the  passage of one's life story
Compiling the book of  a life's history
This you  will know and it is quite true
Your offspring will do the same thing too.
