Carpe Diem

Life is like the sands of an hour glass,
quickly sifting away.
Gone are those youthful days;
Baseball games, swimming holes,
Barbie dolls, lipstick and
girlish things, bicycle rides
and high schools ties.

Dates at teen town,
cruising up Main Street
then back down.

Young lovers on a distant river bank,
splendor in the tall green grass,
love they thought would forever last.

Day to weeks, weeks to months and
months to years. A life  fulfilled,
husband, children, tones of
laughter and even a few sad tears.

But the sands of  time has eventually taken its
toll, all good things must come to an end.
Here today…gone tomorrow.
And end they did!

The moral of this rhyme;
 "Carpe diem"
