Uninvited Mess
you exist in fading shadows
of uninvited mess
you wonder why you struggle
with people you address
you are cautious more and more
with secrets you confess
especially to the mirror
when you carefully undress
you roam around all day
understanding less and less
still hoping to transcend
so inner scratching will digest
you get drunk on cheese and wine
to hide your loneliness
so family, friends, and foe
can't hear you self-confess
you long to meet a soul
to cradle and caress
a soul with open eyes
and a flowing silky dress
