Slowly
The word ‘slowly' I sometimes don't honor with my life.
Instant breakfast, fast food, microwave ready in seconds;
Quick and easy, fast relief, email, furiously seeking speed.
World spinning so fast that it is so hard to hold on to;
Fragmenting my fragile soul into a million shards.
Stop for just a moment…
Shhh…
Closing my eyes;
I breathe deeply;
Once again, I breathe even deeper.
Now slowly opening my eyes.
The spinning has quietly stopped;
Gentle waves of peace lap at my ankles.
Such a warm and cozy feeling in the depths of my soul.
Slowly speaking, using forethought.
Slowly walking, using wisdom.
Slowly living, enjoying the moment.
Slowly.
