 Poetry By A CONTEMPORARY POET

I Lost My Friend

You were trying to live up to every ones expectations too afraid to make mistakes.
Worried about what people would think of you not wanting to cause disgrace.
No one knew your pain and you didn't want us to know.
Too busy taking care of others you let your mental health go.
I don't know much about your situation and of course me of all people couldn't judge.
Anytime I needed you,You showed me nothing but, respect and love.
I will really miss you and would never really be able to tell you how much.
You will truly be missed,So many lives you have touched.
My son you took him under your wing and you included him as your own,
He confide in you when no one else who's going to replace you now that you are gone.
I always promised that if anything would ever happen to you I would be there for your kids.
I would love them as my own, As with Anthony you did.
I would remind them that there father was not perfect,
Even though we wanted to be,He was a good man and that he loved his family.

Dedicated to Wade Southerland Jr. Died 1/23/2010 committed suicide, R.I.P.
