Some people may question their worth
Thinking they are invisible on this earth
Not seeing the impact they make every day
A smile, kind word or deed goes a long way
Still others today always seek recognition
To be known by name for their ambitions
Never satisfied but continually want more
Collecting earthly treasures that they hoard
Architects of towering cathedrals in such beauty
Do not see the results of all their labor and duty
Constructed over a century of painstaking skill
They do it for the joyous privilege that it fulfills
God desires that we honor Him in all that we do
Whether at work, home, free time, or hobbies too
Having a humble heart of service and gratitude
Using God-given abilities with a joyful attitude
Why should it matter to anyone what they achieve?
All wealth and fame are left behind when we leave
Only the value of a human soul bound or set free
Will last forever in heaven or hell for all eternity
We are all like wandering sheep until we are found
Sinners lost, blinded to the Truth, and hell-bound
God seeks us out, knocking on the door of our heart
To believe and accept the sacrifice of Jesus is our part
False teaching proclaims there is more than one way
Adding works or sacraments, leading people astray
Jesus said all who believe in Him have eternal life
Faith alone saved the thief, not works for his strife
Some groups claim hell is just where life does not exist
Because God is love, endless torture would not persist
They miss the Truth that God is the final judge of sin
People will perish in hell if Jesus does not live within
Isaiah 53:5-6 (NIV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed
for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was
upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep,
have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the
LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
