 Elsie`s Poetry

FROM DIFFERENT VIEWS

FROM DIFFERENT VIEWS

I watch the dogs walking along the sidewalk
Wagging their tails taking their daily walk,
I always smile to myself thinking of Sweep
Then I miss him so much I just want to weep.

An owner looks on his dog as his best friend
And their love for each other is not pretend,
They will cheer you up when you wear a frown
They`re always there they`ll never let you down.

A vet sees a dog as pounds, shillings and pence
They do a good job I`ll come to their defence,
But a sick animal is their clientele
And the fate of our animal they`ll foretell.

I look at a dog now and all I can see
Is heartache that would be waiting for me,
The pain at the end is just too much to bear
A pain that, for me, is way beyond compare.

I`ll never replace Sweep of this I am sure
I miss him so much and for this there`s no cure,
I want no more heartache I`ll save myself from that
By just giving everyone else`s dog a pat.
