I step into the doors open wide,
Allowing my senses to be my guide.
Stepping quietly into a beautiful place,
Steeped in age of history and grace.
I feel at peace and begin to sigh,
Enjoying the feelings, not questioning why.
And little by little walk steadily on,
The cares of my day have all now gone.
I look at the light shine colours so bright
Through glass figurines; such a beautiful sight.
The altar adorned with candles aglow,
The golden cross stands above and below.
And long wooden seats line down both sides,
Where everyone sits and in God he confides.
I stand in reverence and love fills my being,
Glad that I came and much happier for seeing.
