The sunshine is smiling...
The sunshine is smiling
through dark distant clouds -
as shadows are dancing
the dirge of the dead...
Red and white roses
perfume the air -
hiding the horror -
the putrid - the stench...
Babies in strollers
chuckle with joy -
watched by the elders
on crutches and sticks...
Circus clowns juggle
bright coloured balls -
beyond screams of panic
from children in care...
Lovers smile lightly
while sipping champagne -
as mourners in graveyards
fight falling tears...
