I made mistakes in my my life and no one is to blame.
I feel as if I am being punished because of my last name.
I've tried to clean up my record and get my life back on track.
I keep getting knocked down and feel as if no one has my back.
I've tried to get jobs and yet I keep getting turned away.
I'm trying to be strong,have hope and pray.
I know no one is to blame for the road I took.
People see the background of my past and won't give me a second look.
I know what I did in my life wasn't always right.
I paid my debt to society,Now give me back my life.
I need a job and like many others that have been turned away,
I thought God could only judge me, Why on every interview I face my judgment day.
I have feelings and everyday I hurt, I can't find a job,
All I want to do is work.
Can someone hear my cry and please give me a chance.
Don't judge me by my past I am only human,
All I ask for is just one chance.
