Poetry For Everyday People
Sentimental Last Call
Night's young baby
I ain't afraid to die
more afraid of not trying
or letting go of what is right
and if I can see
the sunrise again
if I can scramble
one more egg
I'd sprinkle
salt and pepper
between love
and what remains
dreams come crawling
a promise is always made
eyes of wine and poetry
sip away at old dull pains
and if I can see
the sunrise again
if I can scramble
one more egg
I'd sprinkle
salt and pepper
between love
and what remains
close my eyes now love
whisper a soft goodnight
I'll see you before morning
beneath the pale moon light
I ain't afraid to die
more afraid of not trying
or letting go of what is right
and if I can see
the sunrise again
if I can scramble
one more egg
I'd sprinkle
salt and pepper
between love
and what remains
dreams come crawling
a promise is always made
eyes of wine and poetry
sip away at old dull pains
and if I can see
the sunrise again
if I can scramble
one more egg
I'd sprinkle
salt and pepper
between love
and what remains
close my eyes now love
whisper a soft goodnight
I'll see you before morning
beneath the pale moon light
