denied innocence to bring humiliation
for unknown sins,
standing in colors of truth
where the facade is torn
and weakened metal stars are loosened,
anger filled hurt mixes until smooth
and coated with never ready to make nice,
youth's lessons of broken trust and lies
are finally adhered to,
where all love received is conditional,
the understanding of some unknown
unforgiveable sin that locks
friendships doorway repeatedly,
the repeated thought of too much credit given,
for the survival of youth,
the failure of expectations
the catalyst to turn away,
refusal to remain within
the cookie cutter mold
sealed the edges of friendships doorway,
left with only the truth of conditional love,
a locked door, no answers, and angry glances.
