Poetry For Everyday People
Sweet Armor
She said:
baby,
the first one
made me sad,
the second one
scared me
but turned me on,
I like the way
you wrote that,
the third
well?
didn't flow,
but you know baby:
two out of three,
you're in,
with me,
and I thought,
safe beneath,
within,
the arms of poetry,
safely
beyond
our
reach,
between
a wink.
baby,
the first one
made me sad,
the second one
scared me
but turned me on,
I like the way
you wrote that,
the third
well?
didn't flow,
but you know baby:
two out of three,
you're in,
with me,
and I thought,
safe beneath,
within,
the arms of poetry,
safely
beyond
our
reach,
between
a wink.
