From birth, I have my own fingerprints
No one shares my exact same imprint
Stamped thumbprints serve as identity
Used by government for added security
Every living creature, animal or man
Bares God's fingerprints by His plan
All created in His image and likeness
Distinct personality and uniqueness
By faith when I accepted His sacrifice
All sins were forgiven, He paid the price
I became His child and a new creation
His Spirit began my heart transformation
I am a work in progress in my life journey
With God preparing me each step for eternity
Trials and temptations come along the way
God uses to build and test my faith each day
He picks me up, in the times I stumble and fall
Hearing every cry, He will answer when I call
Reminding me He knows each burden and care
Freedom comes as I give them to Him in prayer
Spiritual growth and change occurs in seasons
Life circumstances and situations are the reason
When my growth is steady, I see all His blessings
When slow or stagnant, it may be a time of testing
The way I choose to handle tough life situations
Determines the outcome, through my reactions
When I give into temptation, I can easily stray
Distracted by Satan, life is miserable every day
Even when I feel separated from His presence
He is always with me through every instance
Working in my life when I am not fully aware
His love is the same in the imperfections I bare
It may take reaching rock bottom before I learn
But God is patient and longs for me to return
When I repent, in my brokenness, He forgives
With my relationship restored, peace He gives
In times of struggle I become more aware
Sensing His fingerprints greater than before
Realizing His tender mercy, love, and care
Through His Word and time spent in prayer
