Shadows of Monsters

The morning sun, shrouded by dark clouds
no longer lighting the pathway to dreams
shadows of monsters trawled deep from mans conscious
are all now that's left here to feed…
battles and bloodshed, young ones left crying
seeing all things, makes life so real
shadows of monsters claiming as trophies
the children of love that they steal.

The morning sun, once warm and enlightening
would light up each journey to be
no shadows of monsters… lurking in the darkness
could darken the hope in mans dreams…
then battles and bloodshed, left so many crying
to many questions with answers unknown
shadows of monsters trawled deep from mans conscious
began inside man to grow.

The morning sun, now cries for her kingdom
so much darkness inside of mans heart
the shadows have captured the love we are born of
and our dreams they've torn all apart…
we once battled for freedom… among us walked demons
whom darkened the hope we all need
but we now battle as demons for all that life gave us
and on our souls, these shadows... will feed!
