I Have My Dream
As a young child
the only thing I knew of love
was family friends
and our Father above
As a teen I developed
a young woman's heart
Something had changed
there was a different spark
I remember well
I had a dream
There would be a home
and a Knight was in the scheme
He would ride in
on his horse so white
Pledge his love
and carry me into the night
But as life would play out
that was not the scheme
Now with a heart mature and hair of gray
I do still have my dream
Dreams get a reality check
through the years of time
but remaining in tact
is this dream of mine
I still believe
Princes do exist
My life long dream
will not be dismissed
He may not ride
upon a Horse of white
but he will come for me.
