TO DON QUIXOTE
Author's note:
There seem to be fewer and fewer men of this ilk these days. This prose is dedicated to the hope that the fire will be rekindled in all of us to live outside ourselves and for championing the well-being of our fellow man instead.
TO DON QUIXOTE
In every walk of life there is
The man
Who rails against injustice…
Who carries within a moral compass…
Who wonders at the folly of the masses…
Who sees his fellow man as he sees
Himself.
It matters not if he is
Degreed or unlearned,
Worldly or guileless,
Affluent or impoverished,
High-born or of humble birth.
Deep within he knows…
That there are universal truths,
Unspoken laws,
Basal rights
That deem we all
Are one.
He is the one who tilts
at the windmills
of convention.
Long live the man
Of social conscience!
