she hangs in the balance of life sanity on a thread her world only a dream pain has pushed her hard a world she created from the dust of despair only her survival is real life was hard sometimes cruel lessons unbearable yet she hangs on to life in a cold lonely existence misunderstood by many abandoned pushed aside only her survival is real mistakes have been many only hurts continue to flare she feels the forgiveness fall deeper into her retreat trust of others now lost trust in self now gone only her survival is real still she attempts her escapes from a self imposed prison a careless word send her running back to her safety can she leave her fantasy world will she accept who she is only her survival is real Vote for this poem
