QUIET EMOTIONS
It is raining in Tennessee
lightening flashes as I sit on my window seat
My mind wonders through the dreary night
All alone, only candles, no bright light
In my lap my book is upside down
Can't read tonight, I'm listening to the sounds
Goose bumps upon my arms, quite a show from natures realm
Trees bending double trying to touch the ground
This big old house is full of chilling sounds.
Sounds in candle light make your heart beat fast
Is that someone walkin across my upstairs floor
setting perfectly still, holding my breath,
my heart is pumping so very loud
A ball of fire rolls across the lawn, lightening
the lights come on
all the sounds are completely gone
I think I'll save Steven King
for another day.
