the clown

a clown put on happy face but he was sad inside
and behind the mask he thought that he could hide
he put on a show to bring on lots of cheers
deep down inside he was holding back the tears
he loved to entertain and make the people smile
this seemed to help if only for a while
maybe he will find a way to set him free
then he can be happy again just like you and me.
