Speaking For Myself
There are times when I feel doubt
The kind that hurts my soul about
The world that seems to chase me down
The things that plague my walk on ground
Confess I do to you who reigns
All that I am today that pains
A son that seems to drift at times
The one you claimed, he now is mine
Weak is what has made this structure
That bares weaker an infrastructure
But with your love you will redeem
What is all yours and too my dreams
My argument has no place here
It seems that we've allowed our fears
To knock on door that you once knocked
Behind same door I hide now locked
I see not past my circumstances
The gown you save for final dances
The dance of life yours everlasting
Shadowed by doubt upon me casting
Truth be told we hang unto
Upon you vine, with heart you knew
Before you came and found me down
On knees calling from sacred ground
Just you and I with words in secret
To rise again each time I've wept
You gave me sleeve to wipe tears on
Shoulder to lean my head upon
Speaking for myself, my hope this feeds
A hungry soul that also needs
You Father who holds the key
To follow you where your will leads
