Oh my dear friend
how I feel your pain
On every email
I see the tear stain
I wish to reach out
to dry each one
For your heart to be lighter
when each day is done
The miles that separate
make it so impossible
but even if I were there
I know your tears would still fall
When your heart hurts
it reflects upon mine
That bond we have shared
from the beginning of our time
I am here for you now,
acceptance of God's will I do pray
I will be here for you
if we have to face that dreaded day
Together we will search
to make sense of it all
and to be the needed friend
that will cushion your fall...
My friend I love you dearly
I hope that has always been shown
and that it continues
as over the years it has grown.
So just know I am here
where I have always been
