God's will is for all in Him to believe
Many are spiritually blind and deceived
Even doing good works through His name
Their hearts are far from Him just the same
Seeing Jesus just as a good teacher and man
They miss the message of the Father's plan
Trying so hard to obtain heaven by behavior
Not recognizing their sin and need for a Savior
Without saving faith, no one can please God
Good deeds follow faith on the path we trod
Both go together, but through faith in Jesus alone
Jesus saves you, by His blood, all sins to atone
Baptism and good works are never conditions
Many error to require them as part of salvation
God's grace and mercy are His free gift to man
For all who believe in Him, accepting His plan
Miracles of Jesus were not by power of His own
But as proof He came from the Father's throne
As God in human flesh, He showed us the way
His mission the cross, to wash all our sins away
God desires no one perish, but gives man free will
To choose whether to reject or receive Him still
Do you have full assurance He lives in your heart?
Will He say to you that final day welcome or depart?
John 6:40 (NIV)
"For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son
and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise
him up at the last day."
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so
that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created
in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance
for us to do.
Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone
who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
James 2:21-22 (NIV)
Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did
when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his
faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made
complete by what he did.
John 14:11 (NIV)
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me;
or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.
Matthew 25:31-34, 41 (NIV)
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him,
he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32 All the nations will
be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another
as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep
on his right and the goats on his left. 34 Then the King will say to those
on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance,
the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 41 Then he will
say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal
fire prepared for the devil and his angels."
2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is
patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
1 John 5:13 (NIV)
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that
you may know that you have eternal life.
