Dig Deep
Depth is what we now strive for
Digging real deep unlike before
The flame now dies as air grows thin
Inside a heart that took on sin
Chase but dreams inside our head
Nightmares become more real in bed
Where toss we do and turn today
Away from what was steps away
Glory to Him who still calls me
His son yet to fulfill His destiny
For hard He worked and deeper still
He dug to keep promise He filled
A better world that makes this place
That I call home pale with disgrace
A chapter short of emptiness
Pages of life, ungratefulness
Dig deeper still till rock no more
Impedes the path and open door
To rise again to light unlike
Your soul has seen in darkest night
Destroy these thoughts that wander in
The heart I gave to you forgiven
For in your path I've placed one more
To read, dig deep, I've spoken for
The winds that blow against your will
I'll calm today for I fulfill
What I did start when you called me
Dear son hold on and you will see
So now dig deep and deeper than
I've asked of you now Godly man
For it's my will not yours today
To see this through, dig deep today
