Today someone will stand beside
A window theirs looking outside
Searching in thought looking through glass
Maybe in pain, living the past
The rain obscures their point of view
Of this they know yet still it drew
For them to press against the pane
In solitude that called for rain
Sometimes it seems if they can run
Outside and dance they'd have more fun
As droplets of water caress their face
A feeling once felt where love they trace
Alone today becomes a friend
An ear, moment some time to lend
Their heart that beats but seems to fade
Upon a soul, alone cascades
They press themselves to overcome
This sentiment that joins with one
Calling a truce but getting none
Even the rain now calls for Sun
Stand they will till their eyes close
Choose today how it will go
Another day where rain sweeps in
To wash away what should have been
