The young father felt bone-tired as he fell exhausted in his chair
On the floor sat his sweet daughter with pink ribbons in her hair
She held out her hands holding a small box wrapped with a bow
Her Dad saw her clumsy fingers had caused the box's tip to show
"What on earth is this?" he asked, laughing with much fatherly pride
Into his opened arms she snuggled with a glee she could hardly hide
"Open it Daddy!" She whispered, looking up at him with big brown eyes
"It's not Christmas," he joked, "Could it be a funny Best Daddy prize?"
The child giggled while her Dad looked quite surprised at the empty box
Where was the gift, he wondered, searching her face framed by curly locks
"Don't you know you must put a gift inside the box?" He chided her
He tried to smile at her but his tear-filled eyes made everything look blur
"Where is the gift, honey?" he questioned and saw tears falling down her face
"Did you forget the present?" He felt sorry as he hugged her in an embrace
"No!" she told him, "I spent all morning blowing kisses inside my gift"
"Don't you like it?" She looked hurt when he turned his face away swift
Before he could speak, he cleared his voice which was filled with emotion
He could never quess what was her gift, he had not the slightest notion
"I was wrong my precious darling, your gift is all I've been longing for
Forever I will treasure this!" he whispered, " my daughter whom I adore!"

Sometimes we receive gifts which could never
have a monetary value. These gifts come from
the heart.
Thank you to all who have filled my life with
special gifts such as those.
God bless!
