From the Heart Through the Pen

That Moment of Weakness

She asked him, “How was it worth it”.

When arguments escalate
Judgments get clouded
And unnatural decisions get made
Salt and water come together and creates
What spills down cheeks
While love, honor, and obedience fades

Fingers get pointed
And compromising gets forgotten
Alcohol or drugs starts influencing
Then the relationship starts rotting
In minutes the happy home breaks
What it took several years to make

Power, money, and respect
Is what the majority want to earn
What they don't realize
What they never learn
Is happiness, love, and trust
Are what's going to outweigh any lust

Disregarding their humble beginnings
Giving in to the devils calling
Thinking they can alleviate any stress
Till they discover their world is gone
Losing what was their best
Succumbing to that moment of weakness
