Touch me like a rose,
remembering I like flowers
in the ground.
With your hands,
trace my petals-
see that I am delicate,
but proud.
Choose me like the sun
on a bright warm day
filled with laughter and possibilities.
Know me like the moon,
the ever-changing wedge of light that
waxes and wanes
from a full ripe roundness
into a shadow of revelation.
Be near me as surely
the sky lies upon the earth,
knowing that they are separate,
but together make one.

Flowers belong in the ground.
Everyone deserves a little tenderness and veneration.
