HYPOCRISY

HYPOCRISY

There are more hypocrites in this world
Than people who are honest and true,
A hypocrite will feign many things
Such as virtues, beliefs and feelings.

None of these do they hold or possess
Their insincerity is just so sad,
Everything about them is so false
Portraying being good when really they`re bad.

Their actions belie their stated beliefs
It happens over and over again,
They should stop and listen to themselves
I often wonder `what is their gain`?

Do they do it for public approval?
But actually all that this denotes
Is to highlight their insecurities
And those who see thru` them gloats.

A hypocrite pretends to be what they`re not
They try so hard to act very virtuous,
They pretend to be better than they are
Wanting people to think they`re very pious.

To stop being a hypocrite
Would be to practice what they preach,
To have the courage of their own convictions
Also to give a true and honest speech.
