Refused to listen
You done infested my dreams for the last time;
Gave you three and a half years of my life,
would have loved for you to have been my lawfully wedded wife,
but you couldn't overstand my issues;
I apologize if you had to buy tons of tissue,
didn't mean for us to end this way,
but you never listened to what a brother had to say or offer.
I've told you things nobody else knows and you can't even remember,
you say you are deeply in love with the dawg,
but when it comes to displaying that love you treat me like a stinking as bug
(roach), mad cause I ignite the torch like Ali at the Olympics;
I did it before we meet, but just to let you know I done let that go;
I told you my plans,
no one else could even stand a chance against what I gave you
(my heart) yeah I might not have been what you expected
and I know you hate rejection, but my life doesn't consist of perfection,
all I wanted to give you was protection;
Every time I had a suggestion you just surged it off
as if I was just making conversation.
I gave you my left chest, but you couldn't overstand that, gave you my time,
I left my brother to watch you graduate and when I returned,
the one person in my life that could overstand the beast,
was slaughtered in the streets with the heat;
Yeah hot bullets burn,
but whats worst the flames of betrayal or the furnace of forgotten dreams.
I didn't or couldn't overstand the severity of my decision;
I wish I had more vision and wisdom,
but I wanted to believe that you had my best interest at heart,
however now I overstand that you only wanted the man not because of love,
but because of the thought of love.
It's easier to say you love, but difficult to display that love.
Words aren't a thing, but actions are the things that make people think, dam,
if she loved me she wouldn't ask me the same sh@t twice and trice.
Thought we were tight like super crazy glue,
but when I said we were through you didn't believe my words were true,
I've never lied to you so why would you think my words so comical,
laughed in my face when I said I needed space.
Asked you to bring me home, but your reply was no;
from that point on I knew our relationship was through.
I told you I had things to do,
but you persisted to make a brother have super with your crew,
knew how I felt about being around your sibling
and you continued to keep me in his presence.
And you are the one that claims your love is realer than reality,
no the reality is that you thought my love was overstanding;
yes it is, however after 3 and ½ years you should have known
when we departed I wouldn't shed a single tear,
You didn't cause like the title you refused to listen!
