 Political Mess
Our two party system is being tested from within;
Partisan politics is where this fiasco did begin.
Add in the powerful lobbyist into this challenging mix;
That is why I'm shaking my head, asking, Is there a fix?
Polarization within the parties have split them in two;
Voices shout, but where does that leave me and you?
Liberals, Conservatives, Moderates; we are told to choose;
The battle lines are drawn, but it is our nation that will lose.
Patriotism is evolving into a talking point of each group;
Feeling that I am required now to jump through a loop.
With a moral compass without a true north, we got lost;
This leaves me as cold as a spring morning's frost.
This freeze hinders the tiny buds of hope that I began to see.
Now, my real hope for our country, the land of the free;
Is our masses kneeling in prayer, as we seek God's will,
Not converting God to our view, but truly getting real.
Our nation has been resilient, much like a long marriage;
Changing with time, always loving; I will not disparage.
I see our one nation under God, desiring to bless;
This may be our only true solution to this political mess.
