The Environment
There is grave anxiety in many a developed or developing country
This situation is affecting the population very sdversely
It is posed by the always and quickly striking danger
A condition caused by the increasing and varieties of cancer
Expert may look at genetics, race or various form of employment
Some may even look at those experiments being done on the environment
Those industries that pump tons on gases into the air
Will have acid rains and other harmful byproducts polluting its atmosphere
Yes those compounds like PET and the well used Freon
Will surely have an impact on that layer of ozone
So ultraviolet rays would pass into another zone
Inflicting skin cancer to those of a fairer skin tone
See also the great danger to those women
Who are exposed to BCP, this is a teratogen
Living in the tissues of nubile females
Causing them to produce offspring with birth anomalies
In some occupations there is that chance to be exposed
To chemical agent that have carcinogenic overtures
These regular and chronic exposure over years
Can predispose one to cancer in later days
Lets look at our homes in which we so readily
Use chemicals and many cleaning agents for sterility
We remain fixed and inhale the reaction products that are so near
Instead of removing ourselves to cleaner air.
What about those industrial plants that so readily
Used to dump mercury or its byproducts in the river or the sea
The effects were felt by many a person
Who relish aquatic and marine life for consumption.
The regular quest for newer and alternate sources of energy
Be it coal, oil, and some have used nuclear reactivity
The latter is always viewed with such great trepidation
Because of its potential for such collateral devastation.
Some prospectors will not be too ill at ease
When they go in areas to clear soil binding trees
Because they would not be affected by that problem
Posed by landslides and a depleting source of oxygen.
Guess which part of the population is lump

There will be found the minority races all together
Is this not environmental racism to the letter?
What about the grave danger being posed to the drinking water

All these forms of contamination is making it unsuitable for consumption

Therefore do not let us be so greedy and selfish
The earth is for us to enjoy and to embellish
