Like Chaff
Chance we do these lives given
Filled by soul so unforgiving
At times it seems we're so ungrateful
Forget the works of GOD so faithful
Loved we are but none for Him
Who sees our pride make ties with sin
Breaking off a part of limb
From vine branches that could have been
Nourished and clean growing in faith
Knowing His truth before too late
Like chaff we're blown to the unknown
Failure ahead all ours sown
Not worthy but still so prized
By GOD who lets us live our lives
Like chaff, not pure to just rate dust
We're blown around so filled with lust
For things of flesh that need not be
So blind, so sad what we don't see
Blown to just be blown again
This story yours that never ends
Repeats itself another day
Becomes again the song sung played
Chaff this word that becomes us
When die we do alive no trust
Will join at hip to cause more pain
To soul more dirt that has no shame
Like Chaff
