Exodus

Driven away by hopelessness
A struggle to clear up the mess
Nothing prevails a raging storm
If roots are infested with worm
Love endures if nurtured to last
Over turmoils was blown to dust

Courage to keep the vines alive
A lone branch besought the sky
Reached up for the dew to survive
Mercy, justice the constant cry
Ensnared by the devil's leeching grip
Nothing left to do but escape

In distress we fled in haste
Rescued by heaven's constant grace
Even sinners who repent are blessed
Now this soul has found its fortress
Elusive but at last I found my rest

Restoring the ruins is a must
Against all odds with God to trust
Vines once strangled are freed at last
In my heart memories are kept
Never your names be erased
Among kin you'll always be missed.
