Poetic Verses
My Paper Word
I waste my time in idle word
in hope, alas, to be thus heard
to render this, my statement told,
in letter printed o' most bold
and in such reason as to why
that unto thee I will reply
I languish, o' so long and hard
each word I write like lyric bard
of this I write, like masterpiece,
and time shall surly never cease
that of your graces to obtain
as to render my mortal gain
If, then, given my chance to speak
my voice becomes, then, much too weak
as by thy countenance so stern
and thus unable to discern
if in my favour, yea or nay,
and to await, yet one more day
Scribed words again begin to flow
beseeching thee, onward they go
and in eloquence they must write,
as yet I'm hidden from thy sight,
and to insist that I be heard
if only by my paper word
