Poetic Verses

My daughter

That day you were born it was such  a bright morn
I knew some of my free time will be gone
So on taking time  to think and taking a note of my priority
All indication were that you were my primary responsibility,

As I watch you lying there so innocent and so helplessly
Realizing that most of your existence  rest  partially on me
Amid all that I was over come with so much joy
As I lifted you up so carefully as you cry

As you grow  I was so happy  when  from outside the door I hear your feet
As you rush there, as I come home from work to greet
You were that therapy  for my stressful day
And I treasured those moment that I we were together in play

As always time flew by so quickly
Before I looked around you were a young lady
Look back was glad that I too that time to bond
So that I could be there to help you  navigate the adolescent  ocean

Your first heart break my how you wept so bitterly
All I could do was to hug you  fatherly
Then as those tears subsided  touched  your chin and said tenderly
This is a side of life and love, next time tread cautiously

You soon got over that  episode
And also dealt  with many other bump in your life's road
I was glad that I know at what stage  to let go
So that you  sense  of maturity  could show

Now to other shores you have gone
Another  opportunity  for your maturity to hone
Happily there was always that locus of focus
Built by that  bond  which  we had between us.
