Three Ticket to the Pantomime
As a poet one must be able to express an experience into poetry
Use that inspiration and a good imagination in perfect synergy
This is situation that happened some time to me
When it came back it touched me so profoundly
As a rule I often took my walk in the cool of the evening time
On my way I bough three tickets for a children's Pantomime
These I placed very carefully into my pocket
An continued on my way quite merrily
Further down the road I was just in time
To hear three children pleading with their mother to go to that pantomime
She try to console them and I felt sorry for her predicament
So I looked over and shouted “ Little ones could you hold on a moment”
I crossed the road in three long strides
They all looked at me in such a great surprise
Here are thee tickets and five dollars my little friends
Go and have a good time at the pantomime enjoy until it ends
In all my years I have not seen such happiness
They hugged and kissed me and I felt blessed
Then said thanks and went happily on their way
My eyes too were filled with tear and my feet from my course did sway.
It was over twenty years the even happened and I spend time out of the island
When I returned I still continue my walks to be familiar with the changes in the land
One day now aged and my muscles aching from carrying any load
A fine car stopped for me beside the road
The door opened and in the driver's seat was one beautiful young lady
She invited me inside and in I went quite eagerly
When I looked tears filled her eyes and she said quite happily
Kind Sir” Do you remember me?
I look at her up and down, but not an answer could be found
She cried some more and i wondered what I could have done
What injustice in the past that I had inflicted on her family
The in soft voice she whispered Remember those three tickets to the Pantomime
My brother sister and I went to the show and enjoyed it heartily
We always remembered your kind show of hospitality
Though our mother is gone she made us promised in all sincerity
To find you and thank you as part of our maturity
Then reality finally struck home, I now say the picture quite clearly
She was the oldest and so he face stood out now in my memory
Now I know where you live we will all come to spend some time
And reflect on that day you sent us to that PANTOMINE,
Use that inspiration and a good imagination in perfect synergy
