Though your guns are now long silent,
Those tanks rusted that once thundered fear,
Bristling Warships, once pride of the fleet,
Wrecked and resting on oceans' lonely floor.
We remember those who served at war,
They never knew wearying age,
They exchanged their dreams for service,
Earning special mention on history's page.
Whether heroes from acts of gallantry,
Or back room boys oiling machines,
Commanders standing on the bridge,
Or mariners sailing deep and unseen.
We say Thank You this ANZAC Day,
Our eyes seeing more than you dreamed,
Our land, free and prosperous,
With God's help, tyranny was stemmed.
Father in Heaven, Thank you for peace,
Yet we still see black clouds of strife,
Lives wrecked by adversaries' crossfire,
Father, never let us forget.
