Not as serious as it sounds
With death and dying poetry making rounds
I have had near death three times
In this life how the clock unwinds
Young Airman got Asian flu
Three days in a coma time sure flew
Beautiful nurse stayed with me day and night
Opened my eyes what a sight
I wrote about Life After Death
So if you read my poem know the rest
Rose up and through the tunnel
Had more in this life I wanted to funnel
As I arrived at the emergency room
Doctors words were full of gloom
Put him out immediately will operate
I couldn't use the bathroom or urinate
Two weeks later came with the news
Kind of words that brings on the blues
You had Cancer think we got it all
But second operation it did stall
I have felt pretty good since then
Cholesterol, sugar all on the mend
Such good shape see you in a year
But the blood test came back I fear
Your PSA is again starting to rise
A look of fear came into my eyes
Out came the lubricants and rubber glove
Bend over stare at the ceiling up above
So he said I think everything is OK
Well take another test six months from this day
So the Doctor gave me six more months to live
When I leave the doctors say, "Fooled em again!"
I been eating carrots, broccoli healthy foods
Afraid to die--live it with humor changes moods
