The Illustrated Man
He wears them well upon his body
Each one a story of somebody
That came to know this soul that wears
Ones masterpiece for eyes to bare
There is portrait of loving mother
Upon his chest where too his brother
Served and gave his life in war
Medal of honor upon hearts door
A Pirate ship on back at sea
Chased by British Royal Navy
Where cannon fire lights up the night
As Jolly Roger takes flight from fight
A Phoenix rising from ashes born
A silhouette of love gone wrong
As Paradise displays a Sun
Setting the tone on arms now done
An Eagle soars upon his calf
A peace sign covers an old skin graft
Upon shoulder where they too dare
Show off twin Dragons with eyes that glare
Chains adorn forearms and more
A rosary with prayer stored
Hangs round neck all etched in ink
A caddy's grill in black not pink
Above them all is crucifix
His first on body he calls his fix
Where CHRIST on cross now illustrates
A soul once lost now saved to date
