EVENSONG
Watched over by slow moving clouds day and evening gently embrace
As the evening sunlight drapes itself languidly across pastoral hillsides.
Seeking out nocturnal visitors stirring restlessly in their burrows
Countryside, and town become one as the sun sets letting mankind's mind calm.
Peace reigns, if only momentarily, soft birdsong leads us into evenings calmness
I sit and watch as one peaceful day slips cheerfully into night's delightful end.
We can close the gate of today and lets tomorrow's worries be left for tomorrow
Let's sleep.
