 My today's thoughts

AH, SPRINGTIME

AH, SPRINGTIME

In splendor the winds
dance across the sky
stretching and waving to the creation
Dandelions sway wistful in the breeze
clothed in clear zephyr
bringing a symphonic of allergies

*Many people think the dandelion is just a weed
Herbalists believe it is a valuable herb
Native Americans used a dandelion decoction to treat many illness
Our American pioneers used it for food and medicine
it is an interesting plant...
Take time to read about it the next time you sneeze

**Dandelions originated in Europe.
They were already being cultivated during Moses' lifetime.
It is believed that dandelions
were part of the bitter herbs mentioned in Exodus 12:8.
Bitter herbs are part of the Passover meal.
Even today, dandelion roots are used in wine and
have been ground for use as a coffee substitute.
Use the new spring leaves in salads.

***I have never used or eaten a dandelion
