 Memories

Debbie returned home from the hospital today;
Her little dog missed her, she wanted to play.
Eddie wondered what her reaction would be
When her favorite sofa, Debbie would soon see.

The pooch had chewed up the arm of the couch;
Eddie figure Debbie would be a big old grouch.
But she stopped, smiled, and loved the dog's head;
As memories came flooding, all the tears she shed.

Bradley's angelic shadow is all that now remains;
Debbie's loneliness and tears are seldom restrained.
All the love and kindness he brought to his mom;
I love the picture she posted of him at his prom.

What is important, Deb said, is not what is bought;
But love, friendships, and peace is now  fully sought.
That sofa is not a big deal at all, it is only a thing;
That is not what is precious when you face the King.

All of Bradley's memories now are prized possessions;
Live fully with that love within, not a life of repressions.
I wrote this poem today for Bradley and his Mother today;
Embrace the memories; I love you is what I want to say.
